Counselling for Parenting
How a child relates with themselves, others and their world is determined largely by their relationship with primary caregivers. Likewise, our own caregiver attachment experiences significantly influence how we approach parenting. How you relate and respond with your child significantly influences their self-esteem, behavioural, social and emotional expression. Providing supportive and connected parenting begins with understanding your own caregiver attachment experiences.
Counselling for parents uses family systems and attachment approaches to understand family dynamics and facilitate meaningful change towards healthy secure relationships. Working primarily with parents as well as the child-parent dyad ensures more sustainable outcomes and meaningful change. Together we work to develop ways of relating that enhance communication, connection, social and emotional expression and regulation within the family.
Counselling for Parenting sessions are 50-minutes duration at $170 per session. Sessions with 2 or more family members are 50-minutes duration at $190.
